Dell Computers - Strategic Sourcing Agreement

Introduction

This Dell agreement is available to all departments except Hospital (Chart H) departments.

A Purchasing Agreement with Dell has been established in UCD Buy for the purchase of:

computers and monitors
printers
enterprise bundles
workstations
software
VMware
digital cameras
PDAs
television monitors
memory chips
other miscellaneous supplies

The Dell agreement includes the Optiplex, Latitude, and Precision computer system models for commercial use. You can purchase the units as is, or add to and/or revise the configurations to meet your requirements. Other systems, such as Dimension or Inspiron, are for home use and are not recommended by Dell or the university as they change often, are more expensive, and are not discounted as well as the other commercial products.

You may purchase items included on the Dell agreement (with the exception of inventorial items costing $5,000 or more, including tax and shipping) in UCD Buy. See How To Buy for specific ordering instructions.

Any orders for inventorial equipment (items costing $5,000 or more, including tax and shipping) should be processed on a DaFIS Requisition through the Purchasing department. There are no dollar limits per order when purchasing non-inventorial items from Dell in UCD Buy.

The pricing for all of the items in UCD Buy is the lowest given by Dell to the university. Negotiations for additional price reductions are not allowed and violate the terms of the Dell contract.
