For Our Vendors: Fraud Alert

Someone has been using the university's credit references in an attempt to open accounts and obtain products from several vendors across the country.

The credit reference letter is generally an altered version of the one found on our website, and the person(s) refer to themselves as being from the "Regents of the University of California" or "Purchasing Unit, University of California Davis."

If you have any suspicion about any contact you receive that indicates it is from UC Davis, please call (530) 752-0370 immediately to confirm.

About UCD Buy

UCD Buy is an online purchasing system that facilitates the use of campus and UC System Strategic Sourcing Program agreements. Current catalogs include office supplies, lab supplies, computers, and furniture.

Who Can Use UCD Buy?

UCD Buy is available to UC Davis employees with a campus login ID and Kerberos password. It is also available for approved affiliates of UC Davis.

How Does UCD Buy Work?

UCD Buy offers a one-step order/payment process, with the following features:

Online catalog browsing and order placement. Find what you are looking for without leaving your desk!
Ability to combine items from different vendors into one order. Place an order for a new office chair, a test tube adapter, and a keyboard cleaning kit at one time!
Automatic routing of orders for approval to account manager and organizational review hierarchies. UCD Buy utilizes routing set up for the DaFIS Departmental Purchase Order (DPO) document.
Ability to track order status online. Find out when your order has been fully approved.
Automated payments to vendor. No more processing DaFIS AP Vendor Invoices (VIs)!
Ability to indicate when items were received. The UCD Buy Invoice Verification screen allows you to indicate when multiple items on a single order were received.

How does UCD Buy Relate to Strategic Sourcing?

UCD Buy is a tool that assists UCD in meeting each of the goals of strategic sourcing. Each of the vendors in UCD Buy offers high quality products at the lowest overall cost.

How can I learn more about UCD Buy?

After logging in to UCD Buy, click on the Help tab at the top of the screen and select Help Resources. There are many resources available, including an online overview of UCD Buy, ordering instructions, and routing information.
